Dr. David Griffin, MD – Pediatrician

Dr. David Griffin, MD - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaDr. Griffin is originally from Tampa, Florida. He then completed his residency in Savannah, Georgia, and soon after moved to Birmingham. He is passionate about providing evidence-based and family-centered patient care. In his spare time, Dr. Griffin enjoys playing basketball, watching movies (especially Star Wars!), and having board game nights with friends. We can’t wait for you to meet him and get to know more about him. He is eager to see new patients and help provide the best possible care for kids in St Clair County and surrounding areas.

Dr. Peter Strogov, MD – Pediatrician

Dr. Peter Strogov, MD - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaDr. Peter is a dedicated Pediatrician and a huge part of Springville Pediatrics. Dr. Peter is one of our founding members and played a pivotal role during our construction in 2017. Understanding the real need for quality, affordable, and compassionate pediatric clinics, he has opened many of them across Northern Alabama. He earned his degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and he serves as the President of the Rural Health Association. Dr Peter is also a member of American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Monica Chadwick Squires, CPNP – Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Monica Chadwick Squires, CPNP - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaMonica is originally from Gadsden, Alabama. After moving to Tuscaloosa to complete her undergraduate degree in Nursing, she completed her Master’s degree, with a specialty in Primary Pediatrics, at UAB in Birmingham. While in Birmingham, she was a part of the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery and Heart Transplant unit. After being in private practice for 4 years, she decided to chase her dreams and open an office that provides exceptional care in both a fun and professional environment. She believes in serving others and providing family-centered care to every patient. Monica comes from a large family that she loves spending time with as much as possible. She’s a loving mother to her son and married to Fire Fighter, Austin Squires! She enjoys being outdoors, traveling to new places, and sporting events.

Molly Shelton, CPNP – Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Molly Shelton, CPNP - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaMolly began her education at the University of Alabama and returned home to Birmingham upon graduating. She began her career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UAB. Here, she developed her passion for children’s health and pursued an advancement in her field by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing from UAB. Molly is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Molly enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her Fire Fighter husband, daughter, son, and their “third child”, a German Short-haired Pointer. Molly has an infectious smile and the most fun bubbly personality! We know that you and your children will love her and we can’t wait for you to get to know more about her!

Angie Lansden, CPNP – Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Angie Lansden, CPNP - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaAngie is originally from Dora, AL. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama; and then later received her master’s degree for advanced practice nursing from UAB. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Angie has an extensive background in pediatrics having worked at Children’s of Alabama for 20+ years. Her experience there included orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, hematology/oncology, and neuro-oncology.
She currently lives in Springville with her husband and twin daughters. Angie likes to spend time with family, go on trips to the beach, attend church, and cheer on her daughters’ youth sports! In addition to nursing, Angie is also a photographer who owns and operates a studio in downtown Springville. She believes in providing compassionate care to all children and serving her community!

Savannah Shelton, CPNP – Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Savannah Shelton, CPNP - Springville Pediatrics AlabamaSavannah is originally from Shelbyville, Tennessee and moved to Birmingham to begin her nursing education at Samford University. After completing her undergraduate degree, Savannah began working as a nurse at the Continuing Care Nursery at UAB Hospital. While caring for premature infants and their families, Savannah knew she was called to work in Pediatrics. While a nurse at UAB, Savannah began pursuing her Master’s Degree in Pediatric Primary Care. In Nurse Practitioner school, Savannah was fortunate to stumble upon Springville Pediatrics, where she completed several clinical hours and fell in love with the patients, families, and staff with whom she would later work with. Savannah is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Board as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Savannah is thrilled for the opportunity to serve the children at Springville Pediatrics and join the awesome team that makes it work! In her spare time, Savannah is planning her upcoming wedding to her fiance, Harrison. Savannah also loves cooking, going to college basketball games, and throwing frisbee with her Golden Retriever, Nana.

Tiffany Akins, CPNP – Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Tiffany Akins, CPNP - Springville Pediatrics Alabama
Tiffany is originally from Fort Payne, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama. After graduation she moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. She also completed her Masters degree in Nursing specializing in Pediatrics from the University of South Alabama. She has a passion for serving children and their families. She is excited to provide the best care to each patient.
She enjoys being outdoors and traveling new places with her husband Hunter and son Eli.
